Host Departments

Placement students are hosted in IT departments dedicated to supporting differing Lilly business areas. A brief overview of the departments involved is outlined below:

UK Business IT

The UK Business IT Team works directly with the UK affiliate, including the sales and marketing teams, to understand their future IT needs, build business cases for investment and gather system requirements. Solutions vary from product websites to automating internal workflow processes on a regional level.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Customer Relationship Management is about managing all aspects of interaction we have with physicians.  This is a distributed team with ambitious goals to improve Marketing and Sales capabilities globally through expertise in development of systems, training, compliance, application and hardware support.

CRM at Lilly is driven by Seibel technology and its success is reliant on strong partnership with world class IT service providers.

Enterprise Information Services (EIS)

EIS oversees the delivery and on-going oversight of Lilly’s IT infrastructure.  The technical work is completed by leading IT service providers, leaving Lilly to ensure infrastructure needs across the business are understood and that services levels and quality are managed.

Working closely with other Lilly IT areas, EIS provide consultancy, project implementation and operational support. This is complimented with a focus on technical innovation to improve existing infrastructure and identify future needs.

By providing our business partners with top quality infrastructure expertise, we allow them to concentrate their efforts on their own goals.

Discovery IT

Discovery IT supports Discovery Research Scientists (Chemists and Biologists) across Europe in their research efforts. Their mission is to make scientific discovery more productive and to maximize research effectiveness by providing key IT services ranging from Operational support of hardware and applications to rapid delivery of innovative solutions.
